For the first time in its fifteen year history, the Beach Ball grossed more than $60,000 to benefit patients who stay free of charge at Morning Light's Abbie Hunt Bryce Home! This year's event was sponsored in part by Eskenazi Health, Forum Credit Union, The Naked Monkey, and PNC. All-time highs were set in total raised, attendance, auction proceeds, and Fund A Cause contributions! The event also received much prominence this year thanks to Honorary Chair Sue Ellspermann. The current Ivy Tech Community College President and former Indiana Lt. Governor reminded the crowd of 200+ that Ivy Tech provides many of the personnel for key healthcare providers in central Indiana so she was proud to be associated with the event!
The 2018 Beach Ball was held at the State Fairgrounds Grand Hall on March 3rd. Thanks to community purport the event raised enough money to fund two months of operations at the Abbie Hunt Bryce Home. Plans are already underway for next year's Beach Ball, targeted for the first Saturday in March 2019!
126 bowlers Rolled for Hope on August 17, 2016 in support of programs at Pennwood Place Senior Apartments and the residents at Abbie Hunt Bryce Home. $8,100 was raised as corporate professionals networked. The event grew from 8 to 26 teams in three years. Each team came up with creative team names:
5 Strikers, 7-10 Split, Ally Cats, Ball Busters, Better Late Than Never, Charlie’s Angels, Divine Pintervention, Dolls With Balls, Eskenazi Health, Holy Rollers, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Gutter, Koorsen King Pins, Monkeys That Don’t Give a Split, Pennwood Pacers, Petrow Kane Leemhius, PNC Bank Rollers, Queen Pins, Rolling in the Dough, Sikich Strikers, Spareless Primates, Split Happens, Team Cleveland, The “Home” Team, The Dudes, The Royal Blues and The Wild Bunch.
Many got in the spirit at the Biltwell Event Center. Indianapolis ‘most unique winter fundraiser drew almost 200 people. The event, featuring a beach party in very un-beach like weather grossed more than $56,000, the second highest total in recent event history. Many high fives were celebrated as 80 bowlers got to together to raise money for the 2nd annual Rolling for Hope on August 11, 2016 at Woodland Bowl. $5,000 was raised to help support the hospice residents at the Abbie Hunt Bryce Home and the Senior residents at Pennwood Place Apartments in Indianapolis. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were awarded in conjunction with the Summer Olympic Games. A competitive fun and casual bowling event marked the inaugural Rolling for Hope fundraiser. The event raised $3,000. Trophies were given to first, second and third place winners. Teams and Captains were: Team Iacobucci, Tony Iacobucci; Living on a Spare, Dr. Michael Miller of Miller Care Group ; GMFS Reverse Mortgage, Terri Geer and Jamie Burton.
This year, Morning Light and its supporters raised almost two month's worth of operating expenses for the Abbie Hunt Bryce Home.
